I (James H. Soos) am a Quartermaster Corps Captain in the United States
Army. I attained a B.S., from the State University of New York at
Buffalo and was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant from Canisius College
in 1988. I served in Germany, deployed to Operation Provide Comfort
in support of the Kurdish refugees in Northern Iraq and into Bosnia under
NATO in support of the Dayton Peace Accord. My last assignment was
with the10th Special Forces Group (Airborne), Fort Carson, Colorado.
I am currently instructing Army ROTC at Clarkson University and pursuing
a Masters Degree in Instructional Technology and Media Management from
SUNY Potsdam. I am married with 2 children and reside in Potsdam. |

Randy Givogue-MST Social Studies
Live in Maitland, Ontario. Have Geography & Psychology Degree
from Carleton University. Have Worked Full time at Nortel Networks
for 4 years in Brockville (yes 40 hours a week 3:30-12:00) &
The commute is 1 hour each way. Attended St-Lawrence College in Brockville
full time in 1998-99. So if anyone complains about the workload,
tell them my predicament. I also have been supply teaching for the
last 2 months at Brockville Coligiate. My main intesrests are Running,
Hockey, Geography and Coaching Special Olympics. |

Plattsburgh State where I obtained my bachelor's degree in Psychology.
After taking a year off I have decided to return to school to get my Master's
in teaching. |

My name is Jill Dixon and I am a M.S.T. student in Elementary Education.
I graduated with a Bachelors of Science degree from Southeastern Oklahoma
State University in 1983, with a major in Computer Science and minors in
accounting and Business Administration. My husband Bob is a crisis
counselor and we have two teenagers, Jenny 17 and Robby 15. The hobbies
that I enjoy are horseback riding, reading and shopping. |

My name is Doane K. Graves. Doane is pronounced Dwayne.
I was born in Tucumcari, N.M. in 1970 and I spent most of my life in L.A..
When I was 15, I moved to northern N.Y. where I finished my high school
years at Carthage Central. I decided to go back to school to study
economics when I was 22. During my college years I have taken a few
years off in between my studies to work. I am now 29 and will be
graduating in August. I will have my B.A. in economics and will be
moving down to Albany with my wife of ten years and my 7 year old daughter.
My professional goal is to be a financial consultant and eventually be
in business for myself doing the same type of work. |

My name is Corey Roos, I am from Rochester NY. I graduated from
the Rochester Institute of Technology about a year and a half ago.
I am 24 and engaged to get married on October 16, 99. I am looking
forward to learning more about computers and especially how to apply that
knowledge to teaching young children. |

My name is Amy Jones. I live in Norfolk, NY. I completed my student
teaching at Norwood-Norfolk Central School last December (1998). I am a
single parent, my son's name is John and he is in fourth grade at Norwood
School. I will complete my Masters in December 1999. |

My name is Leslie LaRose and I am an MST student at Potsdam.
I look forward to starting my teaching career in the immediate area
where I have built my own log cabin in the country and have established
ties to the community. I have earned a BS in Management from Guilford
College in Greensboro, NC and an MBA in Human Resources and one in
Marketing from Russell Sage in Albany, NY. After Potsdam I plan
on transferring some of my MBA credits towards a principal certification
program. I enjoy teaching but I also know I will accept the challenge
of administration. I enjoy learning and plan on it being a lifelong
process. |

My name is Cindy Rotman. I have been a Head Start teacher for
ten years, but am now a full time student. I am almost finsished
with my MST in elementary ed. My husband and I on a dairy farm in
Malone. We have three children, two of which have already completed
college. |

My name is Laura LaBarge and I graduated from Potsdam in 1995
with my BA in Psychology and Elementary Education. I worked last year
at Lisbon Central School teaching fifth grade but my position was
cut due to declining enrollment. I have been working on my Masters
in Elementary Education and I hope to be finished in Dec.1999. I
presently keep busy by substitute teaching and playing taxi cab driver
for my 2 children. My goal now is to survive this class and not
to drive my husband nuts with what appears will be an expanded honey-do
list. |

I received my undergraduate degree in Psychology. I hate computers,
but I think this class will help me learn to love them. Or maybe not. |

Hello! My name is Erin Peters and I am 24 years old. I am taking
three classes this summer towards the completion of my Secondary Education
degree and will be student teaching in both Rome and Stockbridge this fall;
my second major is English Literature and Writing. I currently reside
on Main Street with three friends and my dog, Shelby. |

My name is James A. Nieman, I was born on June 9, 1971 in Holland Patent
NY. I attended Holland Patent Central School and graduated in June of 1990.
After high school I went to college at Paul Smiths and attained an A.A.S.
Degree in 1992. I briefly lived in Charlotte, NC from 6/92-5/94 were I
worked for Bartlett Tree Research Lab as a lab technician. I returned to
college in 9/95 and received my B.A. degree in Geology 5/99. Currently
I am working on my Masters in Education. |

My name is Shannon Gotham. I grew up in Colton, which is a small, small
town a few minutes from here. I just graduated from SUNY Albany and am
looking forward to the rest of my education here at Potsdam. I am enrolled
in the MST program and I hope to make a wonderful teacher. |

Paul Westall
Currently enrolled in the MST program for elementary education.
I did my undergraduate work in Seattle, where I grew up. During
1997-98, I taught high school biology and physical science in
Charleston MS. Potsdam is a nice place, but I may go back to
the south after I get my MST- it's a LOT warmer! |

Judith Warren
Originally born and raised in Texas, I joined the U.S. Navy in 1976.
I was stationed in Guam when I met my late husband. I have been to Japan,
Iceland and Puerto Rico. I have three sons. I came to Potsdam in 1988 when
my husband was discharged. I obtained my Associates degree through
SUNY Canton and my B.A. through SUNY Potsdam. I have worked as a secretary,
a substitute teacher, and a library aide. My aim is to get my permanent
teaching certificate and MLS so that I can work in a school library or
a similar environment. Some of my interest include, but are not limited
to, technology, reading, sewing/ needlework, stage performances/ concerts
(except heavy metal), wimming but not sunbathing, theology and philosophy. |
