correspondent reports, first hand accounts, photographs, graphs, maps,
charts, audio, and actual military documents .

are extremely relevant in American history especially that within the last
10 years where there is a great demand.
Its graphic and technological qualities. Also the relevance to students
especially because the war in the Persian Gulf was so recent as opposed
to the Revolutionary War the occurred over 200 years ago.

5, enables the students to not only learn about Desert Storm in class but
also to see it for themselves on software. Many students have a great
interest in computers and software, whereas social studies and history
rates last on the popularity list among high school students. This
kind of software can provide students with a greater incentive to learn.

this software has a great ability to maintain interest in students because
it combines different elements instead of just one or two. There
are audio recordings, photographs, maps, etc. to keep the students interest.

the software is extremely easy to comprehend and use. There are several
menu options at the beginning, and menu options after menu option after
you make your choice. All options are easy to understand. Anyone
with a low level of understanding in computers and software will not be

The rea life photos and the actual recordings give the software an advantage
of containing primary documents as opposed to just an editors view.

5, this software was not tested in a class room but by me and prospective
social studies teacher. I believe this software to be very effective
and believe also that it can be used with great success in any secondary
social studies classroom.
Clear directions for play: 3, the directions
for play are not distinctive within the actual software. There are however,
directions in a pamphlet provided by Time.
Effectiveness of debriefing:5,
it will provide students with a better understanding of all of the events,
decisions, and individuals surrounding and involved in the Gulf War.
