The
question
of whether or
not we are alone
in the Universe is one
which has puzzled humankind
throughout our recorded history.
From the earliest philosophers and
astronomers, through the ages of Ptolemy,
Copernicus, Galileo, Kepler, Hubble and others,
down to the headlines of today, we have pondered our
place among the stars, wondering who or what else exists.

at the  University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill to take on the task
of gazing outwards across the curricular firmament to see what's out there.
