About the Peace Poetry Project:

The Peace Poetry Project is a poetry contest conducted among our North Country Elementary, Middle, and High Schools. "Though this contest holds no formal position on the current state of world affairs, we still want to honor the ideal of peace. Peace is a uniquely human conception, and it affirms the human spirit. It is especially important to remember that peace is not merely a goal but a human right." The contest, which is sponsored by SUNY Potsdam, invites children from all the North Country Schools to submit their poetry, and the children with the winning poems from each age group and grade group are chosen to read their winning poems at our annual Peace Poetry Reading for the Peace Poetry Project.
