Course Syllabus

Credit: Three semester hours

Time: 12:30 - 3:45 Monday through Thursday
Week 1: July 23, 24, 25, 26;
Week 2: July 30, 31, August 1, 2;
Week 3: August 6, 7, 8

Location: Satterlee 300

Overview: This course provides students with an introduction to digitial video design and production techniques

Requirements:

Instructional Video Project - 50% of the overall Grade (DICT#3)

Variable Topic Project - 50% of the overall Grade

Attendance: Daily attendance is required of all students

Digital Storage: Each students is required to have a 512mb or larger pendrive (also called a ramdrive)

July 23 Instroduction to Digital Video Editing: Quicktime & I-Movie. First Mini-Project (not graded).
July 24 Videographing & Storyboarding. Remainder of class time used for developing storyboards.
July 25 Storyboard of Instructional Video project due today. Storyboards approved during class. Use of remainder of class time for capturing video. (DICT#4)
July 26 Editing of projects.

July 30 Instructional Video Projects due today. DVD preparation and burning.
July 31 Storyboards of Variable Topic Video Project due today. Storyboards approved during class.
August 1 Class time used for capturing video.
August 2 Continued use of class time for capturing video. Begin Editing Project.

August 6 Editing of Project
August 7 Editing of Project
August 8 Final Video Project and Report due. Burning DVDs.
