Overview: This course provides students with an introduction to digitial video design and production techniques

2) I-Movie HD Tutorial (View/Download)

Equipment:

1) In this class we will use digital video cameras. In order to complete this class you must have access to (via a previous purchase or new purchase) your own digital video camera. Unfortunately the majority of consumer camcorders are not intended for professional video production. Here are the that you will need in your camera. The price should be between $150 and $500 for a new camera.
- Microphone Jack
- Recording to memory stick is an option (SD, ProDuo, etc...)
- IEEE 1394 (also referred to as 'firwire') output
- HD Recording (optional)

2) Along with the Camera, you will need both a Microphone (Mini-jack to match the Camera), and a Tripod (full sized).

Requirements:

Instructional Video Project - 50% of the overall Grade (DICT#3)

Variable Topic Project - 50% of the overall Grade

Attendance: Daily attendance is required of all students

Digital Storage: Each students is required to have a 4GB or larger pendrive (also called a ramdrive)

July 21	Videographing & Storyboarding. Remainder of class time used for developing storyboards.
July 22	Storyboard of Instructional Video project due today. Storyboards approved during class. Use of remainder of class time for capturing video. (DICT#4)
July 23	Editing of projects.
July 27	Instructional Video Projects due today. DVD preparation and burning.
July 28	Storyboards of Variable Topic Video Project due today. Storyboards approved during class.
July 29	Class time used for capturing video.
July 30	Continued use of class time for capturing video. Begin Editing Project.
August 3	Editing of Project
August 4	Editing of Project
August 5	Final Video Project and Report due. Burning DVDs.
