Audio Project (Group project) 10 points
This project will allow you to create and publish a file that can be used in several ways. Students learn in different ways, as has been shown through research. Not only will this project allow you to develop skills in audio recording, but it is also an exercise that you can use with your students. Many schools have adopted podcasting as a way to enhance and improve instruction.
For this project we canl use an online resource to record and encode an audio file. The website is http://www.aviary.com, and we will use the audio editing software.
A stand alone program that we will be exploring is called Audacity. It is a freeware program that is readily available for both the Macintosh and Windows operating system.
It is recommended that you acquire a good noise cancellation microphone and headsets for editing your work.
What is expected of you for this project.
- A 2-3 minute audio file that has been edited. This should be related to a course of study that you and a partner would teach. Your project can take one of two paths. First, as you preparing audio instruction for your students to use (recording a reading passage). Secondly, as an example of what you want your students to produce ( reading for fluency). Which path you take should be reflected in your lesson plan.
