Assistive Technology Project (Group project) 15 points
 

Read the
case study dealing with assistive technology at least twice before the fourth class session. Be prepared to discuss the key players, their agendas, and how, if at all, the case could be resolved.  Click here for organizational charts and timelines about the study.

We will view an in-class PowerPoint Presentation on universal design.

What is expected of you for this project.
Your group will prepare and present your own case study on a student that is in need of assistive technology. Your group will recommend and demonstrate to the class how and why you think that this is the plan of action that should be followed. The assessment will be a series of presentations associated with particular assistive technology equipment (organized and prepared by the students).  You may want to contact your local CSE chairperson for a generic situation that you could use.

Your case study will include the following.
  • 1. A synopsis of the student and the conditions of their condition.
  • 2. An assessment of possible areas of concern for this student.
  • 3. Low Tech and High Tech solutions for this student. 
  • 4.  Costs and descriptions for solutions along with alternatives.
